Saturday morning fun; My new sponsor Vemma
I just finished up a little Saturday morning Splash and Dash so I thought I'd drop a quick line to those interested. Alex Manessis, athlete extraordinaire, and I rode down from North Scottsdale to compete in the DCB event this morning. The ride was about 75 minutes down to Tempe, and the race included a 750 meter swim and a 3k run. Dave Benjes and Jeremy Graham always do a pretty darn good job putting this event on, and it was pretty free of drama. Alex got the jump on me off the start line, he's swimming really well. I finished the swim about 15 seconds behind him and went on to take the overall win. Alex was a close second with Landis athlete Brandon Sullivan finishing strong in third. Erica McClurg won the women's race. My good friend Steven Stromberg is definitely on the rise, he was going really well out there today. I can't wait to check the results and see where he finished up. Also, my super-web-guy-and-athlete-too Kyle Burnett was running pretty quickly, he also looked awesome out there!
The ride home was a little slower than the ride down, it's slightly uphill and was heating up in the desert! Definitely a good workout, there's no other way I'd rather spend a Saturday morning. I'm still enjoying the fixed gear bike, it's quite challenging to ride but it certainly pays dividends when I get in the big races.
On another note, I'm very excited to announce I've signed up with a new sponsor! The company is called Vemma and they're making the most cutting edge nutritional drink supplement containing super-fruit mangosteen. I'll be representing them, as well as selling Vemma and am ecstatic to be working with them. Alex turned me on to Vemma about two months ago and I've noticed positive results ever since. After racing at a high level for ten years, Alex has found a new gear in the last month too, which has been impressing all of us! It was great getting to meet Alex's friend Jeff over at the Vemma headquarters last week. Also, what a treat it was to get to meet company head BK, what a cool dude he is! Now, between my Vemma and Wellements products I ought to be really flying come Kona time on October 13th! No excuses, no limitations!!!!!

Lewis
