Racing for a great cause
With Spring Ironman Arizona and Komen's Tri For the Cure AZ 2008 somewhere between one and two months away I'm writing this with great excitement! Marc Rubin, Preston Miller, our great supporters, and everybody else at Tri-Scottsdale have been doing everything we can to get ourselves prepared for these events and always trying to improve on the year before. On a personal level, this means I have to place better than 8th at Ironman Arizona and Marc needs to break 10-hours. We're both optimistic! Our all women's triathlon is already a great success for 2008. Obviously we love to be part of a great starter triathlon, but most importantly we want to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Already on our donations page we have raised $18,296. I'm so proud of this number and know that it will be much larger by the time we close down '08 donations a few weeks after the event. It's been my goal to work toward a cure for cancer since I first encountered the disease within my own family beginning back in 1995. To me, this is far more important than racing and I hope to someday be a miniscule part of what helped find a cure for cancer. If you have time, and even a little money, please go to TriforthecureAZ.com and make a donation. Even the smallest bit helps. Or, better yet, if you're female, sign up for the event and come do the race! It's going to be a great time!
To continued progress,
Lewis
