Wildflower update

Quick update for those who like reading this blog. Not a lot to say, went to the Wild Flower Half Ironman hoping to tear it up! Toughest field ever, I exited the swim with a strong 24:39 and was in contention with all the top guys!

As I stood to run out of the water I stepped down on a what I believe to have been a broken bottle, sliced the HECK out of the ball of my foot. 3.5cm deep laceration with some muscles cut. The race was fantastic, Terry Davis' kids Eliot and Nick gave me a ride to the local hosiptal and awesome fellow cyclist Dr. Ken Starr cleaned (ouch!) and stitched me right up. with some DEEP high-guage stitches designed for things like foot-bottoms!

From the ER off to LA to hang out with Scott and Robbie Schroeder for a couple of days. Going to miss the next week of training and then should be about ready to resume mostly as normal. Although painful and leaving me with a severe limp at the moment, I see this as a minor set-back and it's certainly fueling the fire to make me more hungry for success in the near future! Also, the swim is coming along quite nicely!

I promise to bring more GOOD news in the future, thanks for reading and all the support.

Cheers,
Lewis
